About our Mental Health Treatment in Atlanta

Treating mental illness can be complicated but, when someone uses a professional treatment program, it can be highly effective. Our Atlanta mental health treatment uses two basic approaches that provide the best, most lasting effects.

In addition to therapy, prescription medications help millions of people feel better. Also, we provide an assessment to understand the person’s diagnosis and determine which types of medication are likely to give them the best results.

The first is offering a variety of therapy modalities as part of all of our inpatient and outpatient programs. Someone living with poor mental health can experience tremendous progress by not limiting themselves to just one type of therapy. A combination of talk therapy and experiential therapy helps create balance and teaches people effective ways to cope.

You are not alone. You deserve to get help.

Barriers to Finding Mental Health Treatment

When someone puts off getting help for their mental illness, a few reasons are cited as being the most common. First is the stigma associated with having a mental health disorder. While society has come a long way in accepting that mental illness can happen to anyone, many people are still afraid to say they need help. They may feel embarrassed to tell their loved ones or members of their community about their struggles.

How Our Mental Health Programs in Atlanta Work

Our Atlanta mental health treatment plans work on an outpatient basis. This means people travel to us for their therapy sessions but do not have to move into a facility. If a client needs more stability, we work with local partners to help clients get into an inpatient program before coming to us for outpatient.

Inpatient Rehab: Inpatient rehab programs monitor clients on a 24/7 basis during a mental health crisis and to help them stabilize before moving into an outpatient program. Inpatient treatment can be beneficial if someone needs monitoring and continuous care.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): Our Partial Hospitalization Program is a highly structured outpatient form of care where clients attend treatment programming for a minimum of eight hours per day and commute back home or to a sober living home once the treatment day is over.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Intensive Outpatient Programming is often utilized as a step-down form of care where clients are able to attend daily responsibilities like school or work while they still receive supportive services.

Evening IOP: Our evening IOP program takes place three to five nights a week where clients attend treatment programming once their work-day is complete.

We also offer gender-specific programs for those who feel more comfortable with this option. They can attend our Women’s Program or Men’s Program.

Mental Health Therapies

We provide therapeutic treatment that can assist in treating mental health disorders. As well, these same types of therapy provide help for people with co-occurring substance use disorders. The types of therapy we provide include:

Individual Therapy: One-on-one sessions help individuals explore personal challenges and develop coping strategies tailored to their specific mental health needs.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): CBT helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns that contribute to mental health disorders like depression and anxiety.

Family Therapy: Family therapy improves communication and strengthens relationships within families to support the individual struggling with mental illness.

Group Therapy: Group therapy offers a supportive environment where individuals can share experiences and learn from others facing similar mental health challenges.

Holistic Therapy: Integrating mind, body, and spirit, holistic therapy treats the whole person, promoting overall well-being and mental health recovery.

Trauma Therapy: Trauma therapy helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences that may be contributing to mental health disorders.

Red Light Therapy: Red light therapy can help improve mood and alleviate symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) by enhancing energy and reducing inflammation.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): DBT combines behavioral and mindfulness techniques to help individuals manage intense emotions and reduce self-destructive behaviors.
